Randy Newman – doet 013 en Vredenburg aan op Europese tour

Een van grootste Amerikaanse singer-songwriters komt naar Nederland. Randy Newman speelt op 10 maart in Vredenburg Leidsche Rijn, te Utrecht.

Dan komt de muzikant nog een keer terug, de laatste show van zijn tour is op 24 maart in 013, Tilburg. Een concert met uitsluitend zitplaatsen.

Met meer dan vijfendertig albums is Newman een wereldster. Deze tour valt samen met de release van de nieuwe CD en DVD ‘Live in London’ dat binnennkort uitkomt.

Een live album met vele bekende nummers. Een speciaal optreden van een concert in de LSO St. Luke’s kerk. Onder begeleiding van het BBC Concert Orchestra, wat zorgt voor een unieke setting.

Wereldwijd bekend met ‘Short People’ en ‘Rider In The Rain’. Ook de albums ‘Little Criminal’, en ‘Harps and Angels’ (2008) verkopen goed. Beloond met zes Grammy Awards en Oscar Nominaties.

Randy Newman – touring Europe in March 2012

Randy Newman has announced he will play an European tour next year, in February and March 2012. Together with the release of ‘Live in London’ album in November.

The tour includes dates in Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands. On 24 March in Tilburg, last performance of his tour. Tickets on sale.

New album ‘Live in London‘ was recorded while Newman was touring in support of his acclaimed 2008 album ‘Harps and Angels‘. He performed a special concert accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Robert Ziegler.

BBC recording contains songs like “Short People,” “Louisiana 1927,” and “I Think It’s Going to Rain Today,” as well as newer songs like “A Few Words in Defense of My Country” and “Laugh and Be Happy.“

Earlier this year the second volume in ‘The Randy Newman Songbook series‘, in which the songwriter takes a fresh look at his work in new solo recordings, was released.
