Fleetwood Mac – former guitarist Weston found dead
Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Weston has died at the age of 64. On 3 January he was found dead at his home in London by police. After friends became concerned that they had not heard from him for several days. The police were not treating his dead as suspicious.
Weston joined Fleetwood Mac in 1972 as a replacement for Danny Kirwan, and played on the albums “Penguin” in 1973 and “Mystery to Me” later the same year.
Fired in a year later, he missed out on the opportunity to feature in what became the most commercially successful rock group of the era.
He went on to release several solo albums, and toured with the blues veteran Alexis Korner. He also featured on the album ‘Say It Ain’t So‘ (1975) by Murray Head, star of Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar. Latterly he had written and arranged music for film and television.
