James Blunt – forced to cancel Afghanistan performance

James Blunt has been forced to cancel a concert for the British troops in Afghanistan, because of problems flying to the war zone.

Blunt wrote: “We have an air leak. It’s become very cold on the aircraft. Only 30 mins short of Camp Bastion, but we’re heading back to Cyprus.” Also a second aircraft didn’t work out well, it was 40-years old and failed.

Yesterday the British former army officer tweeted: “My thoughts are with the soldiers delayed coming home, or worse, those going into battle without their buddy who’s stuck here on a runway.”

James Blunt recently performed his last European show from the ‘Some Kind Of Trouble‘ tour. Also Katherine Jenkins was forced to cancel her performance. They took off on two different aircraft bound for Afghanistan, but both times had to turn back. It is the second time, after they tried and failed in december 2010 due to transport problems.
